In this case, there are a number of torts that are committed. By the fact that Dwight is using Michael, Pam and Jims names and images to make advertisement without first consulting them, he his committing a tort of invasion of privacy. This tort is classified under the tort of Intentional Harm to Intangible Property Interest. The three people whose privacy has been invaded responds by beating up Dwight which is also illegal under the law. By hurting Dwight, Michael is also committing a tort of Intentional Harm to a Person which is classified under battery. This is a case where a person inflicts injuries or harms another person without permission from the hurt person.

The tort of invasion of privacy is committed by Dwight and it is injuring the other three people that is Michael, Jim, and Pam.  Dwight did not consult them before he used their names and at the same time, they are not comfortable with him using their names in the advert. The second type of tort which is the tort of battery is committed by Michael. The person who is injured by this form of tort is Dwight because he is the one who is beaten by Michael to an extent that he broke his leg.

In this case, it is clear that Dwight and the group of Michel, Pam and Jim had committed offences against each other. It is therefore advisable for the two not to take the matter to the authorities and instead deal with the issues using other forms of dispute resolution such as negotiation. This is a case where they should sit down and discuss the issues and come to a conclusion. In the negotiation, they should agree on whether Dwight should stop running the advert and whether he should be compensated for the broken leg. They should also agree on whether Dwight should compensate the three for using their names in the advert. If the negotiations fail and they go to court, Michael, Pam and Jim should seek compensation from Dwight for invading their private life. On the other hand, Dwight should seek compensation from Michael for inflicting injuries on his body.
